The Visual Arts Awards, a juried competition in collaboration with Philippine Women’s University School of Fine Arts and Design and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, follows the need for innovation for the future, calling upon young creatives from visual arts schools to create compelling artworks. For 2022, the VAA laid focus on three largely ignored visual arts fields in the Philippines today: printmaking, comic arts, and illustration.
I was the Marketing Head and Art Director for this project, where we successfully reached the KPI of 300+ registrants. All in all, this project provided workshop access, mentorship, and financial awards to students across Metro Manila.

I created the logo and key visual for this project. It was inspired by Gen Z, who is the target audience for this competition. The team decided to make the campaign look “cool and expressive”, much like today’s youth. We made use of bright colors and interesting shapes to represent the different categories of the competition.
