ART DIRECTION · COPYWRITING · DESIGN RESEARCH · STRATEGY · CAMPAIGN IDEATION Treespotting
Treespotting is a fictional campaign that began as a project for a class I took during my masters studies. The goal was to design something that “intravenes” between humans and the environment, within a certain time and system. I decided to focus on the ash dieback disease, which is estimated to affect millions of trees in Scotland and incur several public safety risks. I looked to the different systems related to this disease and created a campaign around the Edinburgh City Council Urban Forestry Department, the Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust, and the general public. The hope is that the Treespotting campaign will encourage local resident action, creating effects that are beneficial to the city’s trees and environment while increasing public involvement, connecting residents to nature, easing the city council’s workload and ash dieback's cost implications, and connecting the public with the council.
